Dr. Alivia (Scalzo) Maric focuses her work on counselling and psychotherapy with individuals and couples experiencing the effects of trauma (eg. sexual, emotional, physical abuse), relationship and ACOA issues, depression, anxiety, panic, addictions, grief, loss and life transitions.  She is gay positive.

Dr. Maric has a special interest in working with childbearing issues including prenatal anxiety, pregnancy loss and termination, fertility concerns, traumatic childbirth, postpartum depression and the impact of pregnancy and birth on  survivors of sexual abuse.

Dr. Maric began counselling and training 25 years ago.  She has been a registered psychologist since 1992.  In her approach to psychotherapy, Dr. Maric incorporates psychodynamic, feminist and mindfulness principles, cognitive-behavioral strategies, visualization, stress management techniques, and EMDR.
